If GLOBAL WARMING and carbon emission are such HUGE problems, why are we having to wait another 3-4 years for hydrogen cars in Australia? The technology has advanced to a stage where they will be available in the USA and Japan next year. The only emission from a Hydrogen car is H2O (water). Why not have a 10 litre water catching device in the boot and use the emissions to water your garden. I just don’t understand why we have to wait so long? Could it be that the HUGE GLOBAL oil companies are holding the technology back? Hmmmmmm

One problem is that there is no infrastructure to refuel hydrogen cars at the moment. Also no one is yet making the tanks for auto use, they must be strong and heavy like the oxy and acetylene tanks in industry, meaning they are a lot heavier than say LPG tanks. It is much the same with Liquified Natural Gas, very clean burning but heavy tanks required. LNG conversions are available but you would probably have to fill up at home with your own compressor to have a reliable supply. Funny how New Zealand is so far ahead of us in this one!
What I can’t understand is why more bus companies are not using LNG, I produced dozens of conversion kits in the 1990s before Kennett sold the Gas and Fuel. Even Ford are (or were) using it to power its B Doubles between Geelong and Campbellfield.

To quote that great philosopher -Kermit T F.

    “It’s not easy being Green.”

Particularily when we have multi nationals corporations standing in the way (profits over people & the Planet) and a Government who is in denial and possibly in the back pockets of afore mentioned multi nats.
